After fifty years the mechanical system and the structural systems were in need of major renovation. The chapel had a lowered ceiling installed in the energy crunch of the early eighties. The sixties period building was stripped and walls were reinforced. The mechanical system was replaced and the flat chapel ceiling removed, the roof/ceiling assembly insulated and refinished, restoring the awe inspiring reverence of the original design. Sisal and trim updated the painted concrete block walls for a more pleasant experience. The Relief Society room was relocated and finished to inspire peace and reverence.
